Umrah is the non-obligatory lesser pilgrimage to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia. Unlike Hajj, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year, making it accessible to Muslims in the UK whenever they are ready.
Makkah — the heart of the pilgrimage
Makkah is home to Masjid al-Haram, the Grand Mosque, and the Kaaba — the most sacred site in Islam. Your Umrah rites are performed here, including Tawaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba) and Sa'i (walking between Safa and Marwa). Hotel proximity to the Haram is the most important factor in planning your stay — a closer hotel means more time in worship and less time in transit.
Madinah — the city of the Prophet
Most Umrah packages include nights in Madinah to visit Masjid an-Nabawi — the Prophet's Mosque — as well as other sites of deep historical and spiritual significance. A typical Umrah package includes 3–5 nights in Madinah in addition to your time in Makkah.
What's included in a Travel Orbit Umrah package
Our packages typically include return flights from UK airports, accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport and inter-city transfers, and Umrah visa arrangements. All packages are subject to availability at the time of booking — speak to our team to confirm exactly what is included in your chosen package.
Hotel proximity to the Haram
We describe proximity using five honest bands — from "On the doorstep of the Haram" to "Short transfer to the Haram." No allocation is guaranteed until your booking is confirmed, but we work with hotels we know and trust to ensure you are as close as possible to the Masjid al-Haram.
